Feral Cat Trap/Neuter/Release Program
Feral cats have become a real problem in the YAPS area. In 2008, the feral cat trap/neuter/release program was begun. In 2010, over 100 cats were altered under this program.
A feral cat is one that lives outside and is not a pet. The cats to be altered under this program must be returned to the wild. A kitten born feral and adopted into a family is no longer a feral cat, it has become a pet.
The ears of cats altered under this program will be notched. This way, we
can easily tell, from a distance, that the animal has already been done.
In 2009, 44 feral cats were altered under this program. In 2010, 101 cats were altered under this program.
