LAPS for YAPS June 18, 2011
Cottonwood Ranch Yerington
Laps for YAPS is a great fun day for the entire family.
There is a 2 mile fun run/walk with or without your dog. The course runs along the Walker River, and provides a pleasant experience for your family.
For the serious runners, there are 5K and 10K races, as well as a ½ mile race for children

Great Yerington Yard Sale Saturday September 10, 2011
YAPS will be partnering with the Blues at the Center/Taste of the Valley hosted by Jeanne Dini Cultural Center and Dini’s Lucky Club. An area wide yard sale will be held from 8AM until 2 PM.

Angel Tree for Local Pets in Need – Begin Nov 29. Deliveries made Dec 22.
Tree will be at the Workshop in the Back (27 Broadway, Yerington), stop in to select a pet to buy for at Christmas.
Portraits with Santa – Saturday December 3
Bring the pets and the kids for portraits with Santa from 10 AM until 2 PM
Digital prints will be $10 with mat, reprints and enlargements are available.
There will be vendors with a variety of gift items for sale, as well as a large Holiday oriented bake sale and raffles. Call Claire at 463-4040
Low Cost Vaccination Clinics – dates not set
Yerington Veterinary Hospital with the assistance of the Yerington Animal Shelter Volunteers and YAPS holds two reduced cost vaccination clinics each year. They are held at the Yerington Animal Shelter. Please call 463-6578 or 463-3521 for information
ONGOING PROJECTS –
Pet Food Bank at the Yerington Animal Shelter – The volunteers at the Yerington Animal Shelter manage a small food bank for local residents in need of pet food. Contact 463-6578 for more information or to donate.
Aluminum Beverage Can Drive – Recycling aluminum beverage cans is one of our major sources of funding. Cans can be deposited in the collection bin at the Yerington Animal Shelter 217 Trowbridge Street – behind Scolari’s, next to the Yerington Airport, or call 463-7813 or 463-3699.
BOOTHS AND ACTIVITIES
YAPS always has a booth at the Lyon County Fair, St Anne’s Bazaar, Dini’s Fall Festival, the Smith Valley Rotary Fun Days Car Show, the Fourth of July at Mountain View Park, and a number of other events are the area.
